Now this section will not be installed upon ever single day per say (even though I’m sure some weeks will be that way) but there will be new media that appears from this genre that sparks my interest. On this note here is the second installation of Nerdcore media on Hackronomicon ENJOY and HACK AWAY to the digital sounds of Teleport Massive by Bassnectar!

Looks like the battle royale between hacker turned security expert Kevin Mitnick and the phone giant AT&T is in full effect!

I think that it is safe to say that we all want to know that our personal data is secure and safe. So what happens when your privacy is invaded? Who do you turn to when a company like AT&T allows your privacy to be invaded?

Well NOT AT&T that is for sure!

This is exactly what has happened to Kevin. his personal information has been repeatidly stolen from the cold bony fingers of the AT&T databases. This information was then posted freely on numerous forums around the internet.

Mr. Mitnick finally hired a lawyer to express his concerns about the lack in security and to ask AT&T why they are allowing unauthorized individuals to gain access to this personal information illegally.

Apparently the slap in the face was a more then they could bare. To make matters much worse AT&T is apparently making so much money that a person like Keven who spends in upwards of 2000 dollars PER month for mobile service doesn’t even show up on their “we care about your patronage list!” Because when Kevin turned up the heat on the company to try to get this HUGE problem taken resolved, they basically gave him the bird and told him that they were no longer going to allow him the privilege of being one of their customers.

Really makes you feel good as an American consumer doesnt it? Makes you feel good to know that the companies that you give your hard earned money to don’t have what it takes to make sure they protect your private information. Not only that, but they also don’t give a rats ass if you are concerned about it.

“They can’t seem to secure my account,” says Mitnick. “And then instead of doing something about it, they try to kill the messenger and want to boot me off their network when all I want them to do is to secure my account so no one gets access to my phone records.” “They have to take some responsibility,” he says.

Would it not be a slightly better world if big companies that are holding our information actually live up to the responsibility bestowed on them by us the consumer.

I THINK SO!

Wow I wonder WHY? ;o)

There’s this guy and his name is Barnaby Jack, he apparently is a security researcher at the computer networking giant Juniper. During a BlackHat Hacker Conference in Las Vegas that is supposed to be scheduled sometime later this month he had plans on demonstrate some vulnerabilities of ATM machine security. Um what did you just say? SECURITY VULNERABILITIES of ATM MACHINES!!! NO WAY!

Yes way! and when the word was sent out he received so much pressure from the powers that be that he was forced to cancel the demonstration for fear of retribution. I guess this security flaw has the potential to reak havoc on security personnel, banks, and the general public. (HAH) This is yet another subtle reminder that NOTHING is as secure as we are all lead to believe.
